After winning a local modeling contest, Carmen went to Hong Kong to launched her successful modeling career which saw her appearing in music videos for the likes of Aaron Kwok and Jacky Cheung.
She landed a bit part role in Jackie Chan's movie 'Gorgeous'. but it was her role in the movie "The 3rd Generation" starring opposition Nicholas Zhang Dong Liang (???) which won her the title "Most Promising actress" at the 2006 Malaysia film awards. She also collaborated with Zhang for the theme song.
Up next on the multi-tasker's list was theatre. Critics were doubting if she could put off the demanding lead role of the pop theatre production, "The girl from Ipoh". However, with the sell-out crowds, the doubts were put to rest.
Beside being "Pantene girl" - for six years running - and regional face of Ponds, Carmen was also appointed ambassador for Longines. She owned a self-designed collection of accessories of which 50% of the profits are donated to charity.
